Spring Trip

The Albemarle High School Bands usually schedules a Spring Performance Event, which lasts four days, three nights and takes us to performance and sightseeing opportunities in another city. All

Band members are eligible for this trip providing they meet the following conditions:

1. At least a "C" average in band

2. A strong discipline record in band

3. No major discipline problems at AHS

4. An adequate balance in their boosters account.

All band students automatically have an individual account with the AHS Band Boosters. The Band will sponsor Fund-raising events, which designate 35% of the gross toward individual student accounts. The largest of these are the fruit sales conducted in October and November. The student’s accounts are maintained expressly for the purpose of building funds for the spring trip. Each student is responsible for his or her own trip costs.

Rules governing this process and further details on this year’s spring trip will be distributed early in the school year. This trip is a privilege, not a right, and participation will be at the director’s discretion. Students will not be disqualified arbitrarily, but disqualification may occur because of a breach of discipline, an absence from a required band event, poor grades, a discipline problem, or an unforeseen situation that would make the student less than trustworthy on an out-of-town event.
